Bathhouse Flatiron
New York City, New York

Bathhouse Flatiron transforms a 35,000-square-foot subterranean parking garage into a wellness sanctuary guided by light. The lighting design mirrors the hero's journey—a descent into transformation through thermal pools, saunas, and treatment rooms. Backlit portals mark the threshold between worlds, a pulsing glow beckons beyond, repeated slot lighting guides visitors, and glowing rotundas create landmarks in windowless depths. Dim levels and grazed textures establish a moody, surreal atmosphere softened by playful water reflections. Visitors are bathed in dynamic color, as well as caustics. Every lit moment choreographs discovery, endurance, and ultimately rejuvenation, creating a complete sensory journey orchestrated through light.
